Howard James Hicks Sr.

Howard James Hicks Sr., age 93, a longtime resident of Washington Township passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. Howard was born on June 13, 1929 the son of Henry and Helen (Wood) Hicks.

Howard graduated in 1947 from Armada High School. Then on October 8, 1949 he married his love Dorothy (Racz). Howard also served for two years in the Marine Corp. He was a brick layer, mason contractor/co-owner of Ebeling and Hicks. Also worked as a Sales Rep for Medusa Cement, and then a building inspector official for Bruce Twp. for 25 years. Howard loved going to Florida in the winter, and Sand Lake in the summer, he enjoyed golf, drawing, a huge baseball fan, and loved gardening!

Howard is survived by his children; Ray (Kathy), Howard Jr. (Marla) and Denise (Tim) Dillon. Grandchildren; Jennifer McDonald, Matthew (Kristen) Hicks, Jackie (Brian) Conway, Andi Moore (John Moore) , Dru Dillon (Allison) and Austin. Howard has seven great grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Ella Cone of Berville, and Shirley Verscheure of Ray Twp. Proceeded in death by his beautiful wife Dorothy in Oct. of 2022.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at 10am at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Visitation will be on February 26, 2023 from 1-8 pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Romeo Cemetery.
