Irene C. Jordan

Irene C. Jordan, age 92, passed away on January 13, 2022 at the Hickman Hospital in Adrian. Irene was born November 24, 1929 to Stanley and Anna Namiotka in Hamtramck, MI, one of 6 children. Irene married Robert B. Jordan in May of 1953, giving them 68 wonderful years together. She worked for Tacom for 39 years as a bookkeeper. She is the only one of her siblings to receive a bachelor’s degree which she received from Oakland University and was a proud 50 yearmember of the Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity. She wrote all the publicity and news articles for the fraternity. A gifted and talented singer and actress, her main love was music and theater. She and her husband spent many years performing part time in dinner theater and MOT. Once retired she and her husband spent many years traveling the country and abroad, her favorite location being Venice. During retirement she spent many long hours researching her Polish heritage and family tree dating back to 1734. She worked vigorously to have the Namiotka and Nowrocki names placed on the Ellis Island wall. She also spent many hours writing for the Macomb Daily Senior Living News where her stories detailed growing up in Hamtramck and living through the depression. She is survived by her niece Rebecca (Ed) Pink-Godin, nephew Edmund (Debbie) Kordas and many other nieces, nephews and greats. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband and family in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Funeral Services will take place on January 22, 2022 at St. Clement of Rome Church in Romeo at 11a.m. Visitation will take place from 10-11 a.m. Local arrangement by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Mi.
