Irene M. Krausman

Irene M. Krausman, age 94, a lifelong St Clair Shores resident, passed away on Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2010 at the Village Rehab. & care Center in Armada. Irene was born April 7, 1915 in Highland Park, MI., the daughter of Remi and Irma (Bekaert) Sabbe. She married Gordon Krausman in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1983. Irene worked at the Kresge Company at their Grosse Pointe, MI store for 15 years in management. Along with her husband, they were well known for raising pansies on their Mack Ave. pansy farm. She was a 75 years member of St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St Clair Shores. She enjoyed just being at her home, planting flowers and being with her family on the holidays. Irene will be remembered for her caring nature and beautiful smile. She will be dearly missed. Irene is survived by her sister-in-law, Alice Sabbe of Washington Twp. along with her nieces and nephews, Judy (Dan) Dina & Bob (Jo Marie) Sabbe both of Almont Twp. and Mike (Kathy) Sabbe of Knoxville, TN. Great nieces & nephews include Bryan (Stephanie)., Kyle, Jennifer, Matthew, Andy, Steven, Nicole, & Noelle. She was preceded in death by her brother Albert Sabbe on May 30, 2009. Funeral services will be held Sat., Mar. 27 at noon at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Msgr. Mike Bugarin officiating. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-9 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home (11280 32 Mile Road, Romeo Michigan) and on Saturday from 11:30 AM till noon when her funeral Mass will start.
