Irene Minnie Germonprez

Irene Minnie Germonprez, age 88, of Bruce Twp, MI, passed away at home with family by her side. Irene was born in Richmond, MI, on November 6, 1934, daughter of Hilbert and Mabel (Tiedemann) Maedel. Irene worked in payroll at Chrysler Corporation for many years and retired in 1989. Irene was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Richmond, MI.She enjoyed being a member of the local “Red Hat Ladies Society”. Irene and her husband, Alastair (Al),loved to attend Nascar events around the country. They traveled to Italy to explore the origins of the Germonprez family. She enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels as well.

Irene is survived by her nephews; James (Brenda) Maedel, Jerry(Patricia)Maedel, Charles Maedel, Edward (Colleen) Maedel II and Robert Maedel II. Nieces: Judy (Frank) Tringali, Janice (John) Long, Tracy Smithand Bobbi(Michael) Karpus.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Al, and brothers, Hilbert Maedel Jr., Edward Maedel, Otto Maedel, and Robert Maedel.

Memorial service to be held at Guardian Angel in Rochester Hills on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 11 am officiated by Pastor Mark Haller. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, MI.
