Irma A. Pichler, age 86, a lifelong Romeo/Washington area resident, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Northpoint Assisted Living in Utica, Michigan. Irma was born February 3, 1930 in Detroit, the daughter of Otto and Frances (Rapp) Knittel. Irma graduated from Romeo High School in 1948. On March 29, 1952 she was united in marriage to Frank Pichler at the military base in Mineral Wells, Texas. Along with her brother Otto Knittel and their families, they were the founders/owners/operators of “Otto & Frank” Deli in Washington Township from 1964—1999. Upon retirement, Irma enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos, bowling where she was well known as the “Irmanator” and taking trips to Vegas. Irma is survived by her children: Frank Jr. (Jenine) of Washington Twp., Lisa (Tom) Westlake, Ron & Donna (Brian) Peters all of Bruce Township. Irma is also survived by 11 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. Irma was preceded in death by her husband Frank on June 3, 2013, and her parents. In lieu of flowers donations can be made out to Mrs. Cheyanne Farley. Memorial services will take place on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from Noon—5 PM with a 5:00 PM Religious Service at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo.
