Ison "Ray" Markley

Ison “Ray” R. Markley, age 69, a 11 year resident of Shelby Twp., with winters in Sarasota, Florida and summers in Caseville, MI., passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Select Specialty Medical Hospital in Mt Clemens, MI. Ray was born February 27, 1944 in Greene Twp., PA, the son of Henry and Jesse (Hartman) Markley. Ray married the former Mary Folas on October 31, 1987. Ray worked at the Ford’s Utica Trim plant before retiring after 33 years in 2005. Upon retiring , Ray was the founder/operator of “Ray’s Upholstery” which he did at his home in Harbor Beach, MI. Ray served his country proud in the Marines and belonged to the AMVET’s in Harbor Beach for many years. Ray is survived by his wife Mary, children: Brett (Celeste) Markley of Clinton Township, Andrea (Steve) Bara of Almont, Lisa (Tim) Cochran of Rochester, Angela (Todd) Madden of Romeo and Stephen (Laura) Benard of Grosse Pointe, MI. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and two sisters: Margaret Hunter and Judy Beckley both of West Virginia. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 25 from noon till 6 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo. At 5 PM, Fr Jerry Kessel of the Capuchin Retreat Center of Washington Township will be having a scripture service. Donations to the Vietnam Veterans would be appreciated.
