Ivan W. Krause

Ivan W. Krause, age 86, a lifelong Washington Township resident, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Ivan was born May 13, 1925 at the familys farm in Washington Township, the son of William and Lillian (Payne) Krause. After graduating from Romeo High School in 1943, he married his High School sweetheart, Leone Tincknell, on October 19, 1946 at the Romeo United Methodist Church. After his father died when he was 16, he continued to work his familys dairy/cash crop farm until his death. While farming, he worked many years as a wood pattern maker for various automotive companies until his retirement in 1991. Ivan was an accomplished bowler, bowling in many leagues in the Romeo and Almont areas. Ivan is survived by his wife Leone of Washington Township, children: Butch (Kim) Krause and Sue (John) Gillespie both of Romeo, Barb Bechard of Troy, and Candace (Tim) Baldwin of Phoenix, Arizona. Grandchildren include Tony (Erin) & Dan Gillespie, Nick Bechard, Lindsay (Joe) O’Connor, and Chelsea & Molly Krause. Ivan was preceded in death by his granddaughter Jamie Gillespie. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church of Romeo. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-9 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to Heart Research would be appreciated.
