J Lee Allison

J. Lee Allison, age 77, a 35 year resident of Romeo and formerly from Mt Clemens, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Lee was born November 24, 1933 in Elmwood, Nebraska the son of Joe V. and Margaret E. (Thomas) Allison. Lee married the former Ellen Shafer on January 9, 1957 in Angola, Indiana and she preceded him in death on July 17, 2003. Lee along with their family owned/operated the True Value Hardware Store in Washington Township since they started it on January 1, 1976. Lee had previously worked with Chrysler Corporation as a financial controller for 22 years before retiring in 1974. His many hobbies include ice skating, swimming, and most of all being in Florida on the beach. He served his Country in the Army during the Korean conflict. Lee is survived by his sons: Jeff (Joanne) Allison of Chesterfield Township and Mark (Kelly) Allison of Bruce Township. Grandchildren include Jeffrey, Ashley, Weston, & Ethan. Also survived by his siblings: Joyce Jakee and June VanHordt both of Clinton Township and Edna (Jim) DeTavernier of Chesterfield Township. Memorial visitation will take place on Sunday from 1 till 3:30 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo.
