Jacqueline E. Gutenkunst, age 77, a 30 year resident of Almont Township, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the Lapeer Regional Hospital. Jacque was born August 22, 1932 in Detroit, the daughter of Jacob and Eva (LaFontaine) Gerhardt. She married her childhood sweetheart, Henry Gutenkunst, in the summer of 1952. Jacque was well known for being the matriarch of her family and preserver of family traditions. She was active with the Almont Athletic Boosters, volunteered for over 10 years with the American Red Cross, member of St John’s Catholic Church and its Altar Society, and was the Queen Bee of the Red Hat Ladies society of Almont. Her hobbies include working in her flower garden, reading, and especially spending time with family activities. Jacque is survived by her husband Henry of Almont Twp., children: Steve (Constance) of Fairhaven, John (Laura) Almont, Mike (Sheryl) of South Lyon, Julie Dumon of St Clair Shores, and daughter-in-law Joyce of Florida. Also survived by her mother Eva Gerhardt of Florida, grandchildren: Andrea, Cassidy, Jacque, Emily, Alyssa, Ben, & Abigale and her siblings: Roger (Dee) Gerhardt of Virginia and Eva Flick of Florida. Jacque was preceded in death by her son Frank, brother Wayne, and her father Jacob. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 10 AM at St John Catholic Church of Allenton. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 6-9 and on Thursday from 3-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Visitation: Wednesday from 6-9 Thursday from 3-9 Services: Friday at 10 AM at St John Catholic Church, Allenton, Michigan Interment: Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township
