James D. Wheeler, age 79, passed away on September 21, 2016 in Florida. James was born on November 21, 1936, the son of Clyde and Beatrice (Leach) Wheeler. He served for the US Navy on the USS Worcester from 1954 until 1957, and on the USS Midway from 1959 until 1963. James retired in 1999 from the Ford Motor Company, Sterling Axel Plant, where he worked for 25 years as a stationary engineer. He loved riding his Harley with his wife seeing the beauty of the country, and spent many hours building Lionel train sets for his grandchildren and special friends. Most of all he really enjoyed living in Florida where he made many friends and many memories. James is survived by his wife and best friend Carol Kutchey, children; Karl Wheeler, Kimberly (Dave) Humann, Kelly Wheeler, Katrina (Ted) Seekanp, Steve (Ann) Teschendorf, Mark (Maria) Teschendorf, Scott Teschendorf, and Kerry Teschendorf. Also survived by his brother Doyle (Mary) Wheeler, and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 24, 2016 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Michigan. Burial will follow at the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday September 23, 2016 from 5 PM until 9 PM.
