James F. Schirmer

James F. Schirmer, age 74, a 50 year resident of Romeo, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Jim was born October 11, 1934 in Imlay City, MI., the son of Harvey and Irene (Koehn) Schirmer. He married Betty Schapman on August 23, 1958 at St Clement Catholic Church of Rome in Romeo. Jim worked for Generan Motors from 1963 till 1997 as a payroll accountant. Upon retiring form General Motors he worked at Quest Diagnostic in Auburn Hills. His hobbies were being a Michigan Fan, watching his boys and grandchildren playing sports and helping out with the Romeo Athletics Booster’s as its treasurer. He was a longtime member of St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo and served his Country proudly during the Korean War while serving in the Marines. Jim is survived by his wife Betty of Romeo, sons: Jim (Donna) of Imlay City, Mark (Lisa) of Romeo and David (Michaelene) of Macomb Twp. Grandchildren include Jacob, Jason, Garet, Griffing, Matthew, & Kathryn. Memorial services will take place on Friday at 7 PM with Fr. John “Doc” Ortman officiating at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan. Visitation: Friday 3 PM till 7 PM Services: 7 PM Friday at the Funeral Home
