James Frank Szewczyk

James Frank “Jim” Szewczyk, age 49, a longtime resident of Romeo and formerly from Grosse Pointe passed away on June 7, 2013 at his home with his family next to him. Jim was born on May 4, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Andrew and Jane (Dobek) Szewczyk. He married Andrea Louise Gaw on August 3, 1984. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1986 and has 3 Master’s Degrees in Engineering. He worked for Chrysler as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for twenty years. Jim was a member and usher at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo, officer of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 7018, and a member of its 4th Degree and its Color Guard. Jim is survived by his wife Andrea of Romeo. Daughters Amanda and Jackie of Romeo. His mother Jane and sister Diane Hentschel both of Kenosha, WI. He was preceded in death by his father Andrew, brothers Andrew, David, and Daniel. Funeral services will take place on June 12, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church of Romeo. Visitation will be on June 10, 2013 from 3-8 and June 11, 2013 from 2-8 with a 7 PM Rosary. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Knights of Columbus Charity Fund, Counsel #7018. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malbrug Funeral Home.
