With broken hearts we announce James Paul Wrobel, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, at home, surrounded by family. James was born to the late Joseph and Ilean Wrobel on August 9, 1958. He grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan where he spent his childhood bike riding and playing baseball with his sisters, many cousins, and neighborhood friends. James graduated from George A. Dondero High School in 1976.
James, affectionately known as Jim, exemplified safety and spent much of his life keeping others safe. At a young age he was a crossing guard, later became a certified EMT, and was most recently a member of the safety committee at Huntsman Polyurethanes. Jim also served as a volunteer firefighter, dedicating seventeen years to the Dryden Fire Department. He was proud of his days as a fireman, and cherished the brotherhood it provided. He could often be spotted wearing his favorite Dryden Fire Department hoodie. He was a long time blood donor, the co-founder of the EB Foundation, and once rode his
Harley to New York City, participating in a 911 tribute ride, to raise money for fallen firefighters.
Jim was a stranger to no one. If you crossed paths with Jim, you became a friend. He was known for his big, caring heart, great sense of humor and green thumb. He kept busy as a gardener, bee keeper, and famous salsa maker. In his free time, Jim enjoyed a game of golf, riding his Harley, and was often referred to as the king of the game of Quarkle. More than anything, Jim loved spending time with family, friends and his dog Ava. Jim also never missed an opportunity to brag about his twin daughters, Rachael and Renee.
Jim married Tammy Teasdle, his soul mate, on June 26, 2021 at their vacation home in Caseville. Jim was a loving husband, devoted father and Papa, beloved brother, and a good friend to many.
Jim is survived by his wife Tammy, daughters Rachael Wrobel and Renee (Ryan) Mulrenin, step-sons Eric (Lauren) Teasdle and Adam (Baily) Teasdle, step-grandchildren Norah, Margo and Axel, as well as his sister Janice (Tom) Neely and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ilean Wrobel, infant son Matthew, and sister Margaret (Mel) Hurt.
