Janet Faith Rose Daugherty, 74, passed away peacefully at home in Romeo, Michigan on July 30th, 2016. Janet was born on August 14th, 1941 to Milton and Maryann Rose in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan School of Nursing in 1963 and dedicated over 20 proud years of her life to caring for others as a nurse and educator. She married Richard Morgan Daugherty at Trinity EUB Church in Detroit, Michigan on August 28, 1965 and went on to celebrate nearly 51 years of marriage before her passing. She was a kind, loving and dedicated mother of two children --- David Andrew and Sarah Elizabeth. She was a proud grandmother of two grandchildren—Ana Rose Weller and Elisabeth (Ellie) Mary Weller. She is survived by her husband Richard, her children David and Sarah (Jason), her grandchildren Ana and Ellie, her sister Marilyn Kirk, her niece Margo Kirk, her cousin Barbara Prattinger Burnette (Jim) and numerous other loving cousins, family, and friends. The family would like to thank the tremendously supportive caregivers who provided extraordinary care and friendship during Janet’s 35 years of living with Lou Gehrigs disease. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11 AM at St Thomas Presbyterian Church (55355 Mound, Shelby Twp., MI, 48316) with burial at Pine Lake Cemetery in West Bloomfield, MI. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 4 from 3-8 PM at the Henry M.
