Jean Ann Bachhuber

Jean Ann Bachhuber, age 72, a resident of Romeo since 1983, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Jean was born January 31, 1948 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the daughter of Robert and Evelyn (Marten) Bachhuber. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, Jean taught both English and Spanish as a high school teacher in Indiana. After moving to the Romeo area, Jean became a beloved substitute teacher for many years for Romeo Community Schools, where she was known as “Mrs. B”. Working at Sheena’s Marketplace made Jean so happy because it allowed her to socialize. Visiting friends and connecting with the community brought her much joy. Jean lived life to the fullest! Everyone knew that she was ALWAYS up for a game of Euchre, Sheepshead, Pinochle, Rummy, Skip-Bo, and Uno. She was the ultimate game player, and when she wasn’t playing games, she enjoyed a good conversation, a cup of coffee, and reading. Celebrating life by spending time with her children and grandchildren brought her the most joy. Jean lived and breathed for her family. Jean is survived by her children: Jessica (Sadiq) Midraj of Columbus, OH, Daniel (Kristin) Ballenger of Chicago, IL, Sara (Ryan) Horne of Clarkston, MI, Jacob (Katie) Ballenger of Hudson, OH, and Elizabeth (Zack) Lane of Oxford, MI. Grandchildren include Nawal, Sara, Collin, Luke, Emmy, Chloe, Sam, Rhys, Audrey, Wesley, Evan, Caleb, and Ava. Siblings include Steve (Karin) Bachhuber, Cassie (Jim) Zitlow, Sara (Tony) Catarozoli, Sue (Bob) Werley, Eric Bachhuber, and Mary Callen. We will be celebrating the joyful life of our mom, Jean Bachhuber, August 7th from 1-3 at Romeo- Washington Parks and Recreation (google map link to Romeo- Washington Parks and Recreation). Feel free to join us for some light refreshments. We will have some Euchre and Skip-Bo tables set up, along with some of Mom’s favorite snacks! The kids can play at the park, next to Mom’s tree and bench. We are looking forward to a day of remembering and celebrating our open-hearted, fun-loving mom.
