Jean M. Sawdey

Jean M. Sawdey, age 83, a 52 year resident of the Romeo area, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Romeo Nursing Center. Jean was born June 8, 1931 in Roseville, Michigan , the daughter of John and Bernice (Haber) Smith. Jean was an active member of the Romeo Methodist Church for many years and her hobbies include sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Jean is survived by her daughters: Mary (Tom) Marvin & Linda (Zack) Bevins both of Almont and Debbie Sawdey of Romeo. Grandchildren include Jennifer (Jim) Rhodes and Kathryn (Colin) Ronayne and great grandchildren Sawyer & Ella. Surviving siblings include LeRoy Smith of Richmond, Ann Shupe of Maryland, and Val (Dave) Weeks of Arizona. Jean was preceded in death by her parents John and Bernice (Haber) Smith, sisters Thelma Wagner, Ormalee Urich, Melvina Hollands along with brothers Donnie and Frank Smith. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, March 10 at 11 AM at the Romeo United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to Debbie Sawdey would be appreciated.
