Jean M. Schocke

Jean M. Schocke, age 92, a lifelong Romeo resident, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Romeo Continuing Care Center. Jean was born May 16, 1919 in Romeo, the daughter of Horace and Margaret (Shivley) Walker. Jean married James Schocke in Toledo, Ohio on July 6, 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1978. She was a former member of the Romeo United Methodist Church. Jean was a homemaker who enjoyed just being in her home, always kept her house immaculate, and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean is survived by her sons, Gary (Marge) and Ron (Lisa) Schocke both of Romeo along with grandchildren: Jim, Jennifer, Jeff, Greg, Michele, Michael, Andrew, & Stephen. Jean was also survived by 14 great grandchildren and was preceded in death by her grandson Chris. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 14 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home with Fr. A. Raymond Babin officiating. Burial will take place at the Romeo Cemetery. Donations to the Leader Dogs for the Blind would be appreciated.
