Jean Marie Perala

Jean Marie Perala , age 78, a one year resident of Almont, and formerly of New Hudson, Michigan, passed away on a beautiful Sunday, April 14, 2024, at home surrounded by family. Jean was born January 3, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Harry Gus and Rachel Aitken (Elliot) Alsbury. Jean owned a family produce stand, which she enjoyed immensely. She also worked as a Nurse’s Aide for 25 years. Jean loved keeping track of current events and spending time with family. She was also a dog lover.

Jean is survived by her daughters Jeani Much of New Hudson and Mary Beth (Seth) Henry of Almont, grandchildren Angus Much, Conner Henry, Grace Henry, Samuel Henry, Rachel Much Morrell (Nicholas), and Ruth Henry, and great-grandchildren Aria Henry and Harlo Henry. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Clarence Perala, parents, Harry Gus Alsbury and Rachel Aitken Alsbury, brothers Harry James Alsbury and Ray Alsbury, and sister Susie Jewell.

Visitation will be held Friday April 19, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, with funeral services being held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM, also at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, Michigan. Please join us for dinner following at the Kilgore Scottish Centre of the St. Andrew’s Society of Detroit, 2363 Rochester Road, Troy, Michigan.
