Jessie I. Puvogel, age 101, passed away in Lake Placid, FL on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Jessie was born on April 4, 1918 in Detroit to Fred and Nephius (Heffern) St. John. In 1937, Jessie met and fell in love with Don Puvogel, who lived across the street from her. They were married in 1939 and resided in Southfield for many years before moving to Romeo in 1963. They remained devoted to each other for 62 years of marriage until Don’s passing in 2001. Jessie is survived by her 2 children, Belle (Mike) Nowak, and Cole (Jerri) Puvogel. She had 6 grandchildren; Tisha Greco, Christina Ewald, Bill Fortier, Adam Fortier, Suzanne Moore, and Mike Nowak. She was also survived by 9 great grandchildren. Jessie was preceded in death by her brother Clarence, and sisters Anne and Luella. Jessie enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and traveling. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 20, at 11AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo with burial to follow at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak. Visitation will be held from 10AM to 11AM.
