John A. Ferguson

John A. Ferguson, age 74, a 48 year resident of Armada Township passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. John was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Alfred and Sarah (Thompson) Ferguson. John served his country proud as an Army Ranger during the Vietnam War. He married Joan Kreger in 1962 at St Peter’s Lutheran Church in Macomb Twp., Michigan. John retired from General Motors after 44 years of service, first starting at its Pontiac Plant and retiring in 2008 at the GM Tech Center where he worked as a computer analyst. Upon retiring, he enjoyed working on his model train sets, being on his computer, and mostly just being with his many family & friends. John and Joan were current members of Grace Lutheran Fellowship of Bruce Township, Michigan. John is survived by his wife Joan, sons: Scott in California and Mark (Tammy) of Clinton Township. Grandchildren include Brandon, Antonio, Alexandria, Victoria, Julianne, Savanna & Brendan. John is also survived by his sister Helen Alldredge of Rochester, Michigan. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Fellowship with Pastors Eric Majeski & Rev Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruce-Armada Cemetery. Visitation will take place a the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo on Saturday from 5-8 and on Sunday from 2-8 PM. Donations to Grace Lutheran Fellowship would be appreciated in memory of John Ferguson.
