John C. Mann

John  C. Mann, a 27 year resident of Romeo and formerly from Birmingham/Detroit areas, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan.  John was born July 5, 1932 in Detroit, the son of Phillip and Margaret (Clawson) Mann.  He married Janet Walter on October 22, 1955 in Detroit.  John retired in 2007 as the C.E.O of the MPG Credit Union in Romeo.  He previously worked as a test driver/quality control technician for the Romeo Ford Proving Grounds, and had also worked for 9 years as a Detroit Police officer.  John served his Country in the Navy and along with his wife, they were long time members of St John Lutheran Church in Romeo. His hobby was golfing and he was most proud of his hole in one.      John is survived by his wife Janet, children:  Linda (William) Adams of Imlay City, Don (Lyliss) Mann of Fenton, MI., and Mike (Becky Novak) Mann of Columbus, Ohio.  Grandchildren include George, Angela, Emily, Jeanette, & Katie Adams and Jason, Andrew, & Thomas Mann along with one great granddaughter Katelynn.      Memorial services will take place on Thursday, May 15 at 7 PM at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Pastor Mark Evans officiating.  Visitation will take place at the church from 6-7 PM, the hour of service.  Donations to the Macomb County Animal Shelter or to St John Lutheran Church would be appreciated.  Arrangements by the Henry M.
