John Lang, born in Glasgow, Scotland to Jean and Frederick Lang on February 5, 1923. Mr. Lang served a tour in the British Army during World War ll defending our country in Italy, Africa and all over Europe. John learned his trade as a brick mason and came to live in the United States in 1949 where he perfected his craft. On November 5, 1976 he married his True Love Helen, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together for 38 years. He is survived by his wife Helen, son Fred and daughters Lynda Page, Kathy (Walter) Bieber and Karyn Choate, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. John and Helen spent 24 years of blissful retirement in Northern Florida before returning to Michigan for the last six years. John enjoyed spectator golf and had a passion for boats and fast cars. Mr. Lang was also a member of The White Heather Club where he and Helen attended many dances. John was known for his Scottish brogue and feisty attitude, and despite his declining health if asked how he was feeling would always reply “Like Tony the Tiger!†Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Rev. Mark Evans officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8 PM. Donations to Alzheimer’s Association or Dementia Research would be appreciated. .
