John R. Hartman

John R. Hartman, age 82, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. John was born November 22, 1928 in St Clair, Michigan, the son of John and Lydia (Cox) Hartman. John worked for over 30 years at Ford Motor Company as an electrician at their 17 Mile and VanDyke plant before retiring in 1980. Upon retiring, he enjoyed working on his polished rocks, making jewelry, and hunting. John served his country in the Military in the late 1940’s, early 1950’s. John is survived by his two daughters: Donna Bevan of Romeo and Diane (Kevin) Okray of Armada Township. Grandchildren include Robbie, Lauren, Melissa, and Andrew. Also survived by his brother William (Celia) Hartman of Pellston, MI. John was preceded in death by his wife Hazel, daughter Sally, and brother Jerry. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Eric Majeski of Grace Lutheran Fellowship officiating. Burial will take place in the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-8 PM.
