Jonathan L. Eckhardt

Jonathan L. Eckhardt, age 48, a 8 year resident of Addison Twp., and formerly from Oxford/Lake Orion, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at McLaren-Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. Jon was born June 29, 1963 in Port Huron, the son of Ray L. and Betty-Lou (Esther) Eckhardt. For the last 7 years, Jon worked as an Operations Manager for EXEL Trucking in Detroit. He previously worked at General Motors. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and camping. He absolutely loved watching NASCAR racing with his family and friends at barn parties. He will always be remembered by his famous last words, “Have a nice Day”. Jon is survived by his children: Jillienne (Mark) Roudebush and Ross Eckhardt. Also survived by his best friend Christie Roy and his siblings; Rick (Sherry) of Romeo, Wendy Williams of Ann Arbor, Jacques of Cadillac, Michael (Michelle) of Cass City, Dennis of Nevada, and Steve of Auburn Hills. Special friends include Colleen Speer, Brad Barrett, Rich Austin, and Dave Streber. Memorial gathering will take place on Sunday, March 25 from noon till 5 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. At 4 PM, family and friends can relate stories about Jon.
