Joseph A. Malburg, age 86, a lifelong Macomb County resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 2, 2008.  Joe was born April 18, 1922 in Erin Township in Macomb County, the son of Henry Charles and Alice Julia (VanThomme) Malburg.  Joe married Clara Campbell on April 18, 1945 at St Clement Catholic Church in Center Line, Michigan.  Joe, along with his family were lifelong Ray Township truck gardenersUpon retirement, Joe worked at Stony Creek Metropark in maintenance for many years, drove truck for Teller Excavating, and cut grass at Pine Valley Golf Course.  Joe, along with their family were longtime members of St. Clement Catholic Church of Romeo, was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Council # 7018, and belonged to the Richmond Antique Engine Club. Joe is survived by his wife Clara of Ray Township, children:  Shirley (John) Ternes of Ray Twp., Pam Malburg of Romeo, Sharon  (Al) Verlinde of Armada, Marilou (Ron) Rohrbeck of Shelby Twp., Charles (Sharlene) of Farmington Hills, Patricia Miller of Burtchville, MI,  and Beverly Bettcher of Memphis.  Grandchildren include John (Renee), Renee (Larry) Ruiz, & Michael Ternes, Joseph, Stephen, Nicholas, & Dana Malburg, Jason (Jennifer) Verlinde, Ronald Rohrbeck, Mitchell & Jeffrey Miller, and James (Millissa) and Laura Bettcher.  Great grandchildren include Evan, Ryan, & Abigail Ternes, Jullian Ruiz, Noah, Liliahna & Camille Verlinde.  Siblings surviving include Eileen (Maurice) D'hondt of Ray, Georgina (Don) Campbell of Bruce Twp., Alice (Al) Sabbe of Washington Twp &  Grace (George) Debruyn of Armada Twp. Also survived by sister-in-laws, Germaine & Theresa Malburg and Agnes Janicki. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph on Oct 11, 1996 and his brothers  Leonard, Charles, Edward, Henry Malburg, & his sisters Evelyn VanPamel & Frances Pewinski.      Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 6 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo.  Burial will follow at the Davis Cemetery in Ray Twp.  Visitation will take place on Thursday from 3-9 and on Friday from 1-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with a rosary at 8 PM Friday. Visitation: Visitation Times Thurs 3-9 & Fri 1-9 Malburg Funeral Home
