Joseph A. Nichols, age 92, a resident of Romeo/Rochester since 2008 and previously from Walterboro, SC., Frankfort, MI., and Southfield/Detroit, passed away on Nov 1 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Joseph was born October 31, 1924 in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of Arthur D. and Esther (Mangelson) Nichols. He married the former Pauline Barbara Lealand in 1950 and she preceed him in death in 1988. Joseph worked as a maintenance supervisor for Pet Milk, Inc in Frankfurt Michigan for over 20 years before retiring in 1987. He also owned/operated VN boat company in Southfield/Detroit for many years. He also served his country during WW II in the Navy and he loved to hunt and golf for a hobby. Joseph is survived by his son Art (Janie) Nichols of Romeo along with grandchildren Candida and Christopher along with one grandchild Tristin. Memorial services will take place on Friday, November 4 at 10 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Eric Majeski of Grace Lutheran Fellowship of Bruce Township officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9 AM till the service starts at 10 AM.
