Joseph P. Sutter, age 56, a 10 year resident of Armada Twp., and formerly from Rochester Hills, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at St Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, MI. Joseph was born December 6, 1954 in Detroit, the son of Charles and Lidiann (Gaskill) Sutter. He married Patricia (Trish) Zajko on June 30, 1990 at the Divine Grace Lutheran Church in Lake Orion. Joe retired from General Motors at its Truck/Bus plant in Pontiac in 1997 as an Engineer. Upon retirement, Joe enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross, was a philanthropist, a business entrepreneur, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed working on old muscle cars with his family and friends, watching old John Wayne movies, and riding his motorcycle. Joe is survived by his wife Patricia (Trish), son Andrew, currently at U. of M., his mother Lidiann Sutter of Roseville. Also survived by siblings: Tim Sutter of Hawks, MI., Delanie (Mike) McManey of Roseville, John Sutter of Lapeer, Amy (Stan) McKeown of Capac, Jeff Zajko (Tina Simms) & Janet (Brian) Chambers both of Almont, Pamela (John) Tucker of New Hampshire, Kimberly (Tim) Israel of Romeo, Kendra (Randy Aceri) Zajko of Romeo, and Pat’s parent, Gene & Kay Zajko of Bruce, MI. Also survived by his brother in law Keith Taylor of Lapeer and 29 nieces & nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his son Samuel, father Charles, and sister Melanie Taylor. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church.(102 Church St. Romeo MI 48065). Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-9 and on Friday from 2-9.
