Joyce E. Thormann

Joyce E. Thormann, age 77, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Village Rehabilitation & Care Center in Armada. Joyce was born September 20, 1931 in Romeo, the daughter of Karl and Emma DeBruyn. Joyce was active with the Striber-McVicar Post #2052 & the Armada Amvets for many years, being a member of the Ladies Auxiliary where she held many offices. She helped out in all their fund raisers for many years. She was a former member of St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo and she enjoyed volunteering for the Romeo Senior Citizens, playing bingo, and doing all type of crafts. Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her children: Donald R. of Washington Twp., twins: Janette E. (Michael) Winne of Allenton and Jayne E. (Melvin) Williams of Rochester Hills. Also survived by her seven grandchildren: Mark (Alicia Vozza) Winne, Matt (Jessica) Winne, Amanda, Christine, Melvin Jr., Serrita, & LaShunda Williams, great grandchildren Reece & Kamari along with her brother George (Grace) DeBruyn of Armada Twp. Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 15 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Jeffrey Draeger of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Washington Twp. Officiating. Burial will following the Romeo Cemetery. A Women Auxiliary memorial service will be on Sunday night at 7 PM at the Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday from 7-9 and on Sunday from 2-9. Visitation: Saturday 7-9 Sunday 2 - 9 with a 7 PM VFW service
