Joyce Hartnell Guimond

Joyce H. Guimond, age 86, a resident of Romeo since 1965 and previously from Mt Clemens, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at McLaren-Macomb Hospital in Mt Clemens, MI. Joyce was born April 23, 1926 in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, the daughter of Samuel Joseph and Lula Belle (Palmer) Hartnell. She married Alfred Conrad Guimond on April 26, 1952 at St. Martin on the Lake Catholic Church in Detroit and he preceded her in death on February 2, 1998. Joyce was a registered nurse and worked in several area hospitals until her retirement in 1985. Joyce was a member of D.A.R., and was an accomplished knitter. Joyce was dearly loved by her family. She is survived by a son, Alfred Joseph of Wenatchee, Washington, Suzanne (George) Wilson of Romeo , Eileen O’Conner of Macomb and Jane (Bill) Kromer of Flint, MI. Also survived by grandchildren, John & Mitchell Guimond, Matthew DeVriese, Jennifer and George M. Wilson, Kathleen & Shannon O’Connor and Jonathan, Catherine, and Christina Kromer. Joyce was preceded in death by her son John Frances Guimond in 1970. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at St John Lutheran Church, Romeo with Rev. Mark Evans officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to St John Lutheran Church or to the Bruce-Romeo Fire Department would be appreciated.
