Juanita Thompson, age 99, a 40 year resident of Dryden and formerly from Grosse Pointe, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009 at her home. Juanita was born January 9, 1910 in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter of William and Beulah (Greenwell) McDowell She married William Thompson on October 5, 1933 and he preceded her in death on November 26, 2004. Along with her husband and family, they were the founders/operators of the Preferred Cleaners in Grosse Pointe and St Clair Shores for over 65, until their retirement in the mid 1990’s. Juanita was a member of the Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church of Dryden, and her hobbies include field hockey, basketball, reading, all type of sports, and being with her family & friends. Juanita is survived by her children: Bruce (Kyong) Thompson and Joyce King, both of Dryden along her grandchildren: Tim (Chris) Lorey, Amanda Tenorio, & Jim (Tracy) Androl. Great-grandchildren include Caleb & Joshua Lorey, Kai & Kalani Tenorio and Lily Androl. Juanita was preceded in death by her brothers Kenny & Cyle McDowell. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 7 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Rev. Steven Helms of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Dryden officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4-8 and on Thursday from 3—7 PM. Visitation: Wednesday from 4-8 Thursday from 3 -7 Services: Thursday 7 PM
