Julius Chet Patrzalek

Julius “Chet” Patrzalek, age 85, a 40 year resident of Leonard, formerly of Roseville, MI., passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, MI. Chet was born January 13, 1925 in Omar, West Virginia, the son of Karl and Clara Patrzalek. He married Lu Ann Dean on May 14, 1955 in Bryan, Ohio. After serving his Country in the Air Force during the Korean Way, he started working for Michigan Consolidated Gas where he worked his way up to management in the Detroit office and after 35 years of employment, he retired in 1985. After retirement, he worked for “Emmett’s Energy” in Romeo where he sold/installed/repaired gas fireplaces for many years. Chet, along with his family were well known for working the fish fries at the Romeo United Methodist Church where they were longtime members. Chet was a former member of the Romeo American Legion, enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching baseball games, and especially being with his cherished grandchildren. Chet is survived by his wife Lu Ann, children: Todd of Ubly, Brian (Michelle) of Leonard, and Wendy (Tom) Reschke of Livonia, MI. Grandchildren include Kaitlin & Adam Patrzalek and Zachary, Aaron, & Taber Reschke. Chet was preceded in death by his siblings: Irene, Lillian, Carl, Walter, & Hank. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Romeo United Methodist Church with Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 6-9 and on Tuesday from 2-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo.
