Katherine E. New

Katherine E. New, age 91, a 1 1/2 year resident of Bruce Township, and formerly a lifelong resident of the Algonac, Michigan area, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Katherine was born June 3, 1920 in Port Huron, MI., the daughter of William and Izoria (Gilbert) Sedwick. After Katherine served with the Coast Guard during WW II, she worked as a Supervisor of Retail for the W.T. Grant Department Stores in Algonac for over 30 years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Katherine is survived by her children: Ralph (Pamela) New of Bruce Township., Chuck (Brenda) New of North Carolina, and Cindi Nilson of Roseville, MI. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her brother Fred Sedwick of Florida. Memorial gathering will be on Sunday, July 10 from 2-4 PM at the Henry M.
