Katherine Schwartzkopf, age 30, formerly of Dryden/Almont, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 in Alexandria, Virginia. Katherine was born April 2, 1982 in Mt Clemens, the daughter of Tina (Malburg) Fogler and David Schwartzkopf. Katherine attended Dryden Schools and then moved to Almont where she graduated in 2000. After graduating from Almont, Kate earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Grand Valley University. She then moved to Alexandria, Virginia area where she worked in the Medical field while earning her Masters in Nursing from the University of Maryland. Kate had many hobbies. She enjoyed her science and math clubs, played softball, soccer, and when little, enjoyed her dance groups. Kate is survived by her mother Tina Fogler and father David. Also survived by siblings: Kelly (Brad) Lathrop of Royal Oak and Matthew (fiancé Rachel) of Springport, MI. Also survived by her beloved dogs, Lenny & Golda. Memorial services will take place on Saturday at noon with Fr. Wayne Ureel of St Cornelius Catholic Church of Dryden officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-7 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michgian. Donations to the Red Cross or to the Humane Society would be appreciated.
