Kenneth E. Measel, age 79, a resident of Almont Township since 1971, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 13, 2018. Ken was born July 11, 1939 in Warren, Michigan, the son of Earl and Esther (Metter) Measel. Ken was married to Louise (DeVolder) who preceded him in death in 1987 and then married Margaret Phillips in 1987. Ken was the founder/operator of “Ken Measel Supply” which was started in 1958. He had many interest including managing his world class pulling tractor “Mining for Dollars”, shooting his guns, deer hunting, 4-wheeling, and snowmobiling. Ken is survived by his wife Margaret, children: Dawn Antonelli of St Clair Shores, Todd (Terry) of Deckerville, Kenny (Maryellen) of Almont, Sherry Kreger of Texas, and Tom Hosner of Harrison, MI. Grandchildren include Anthony, Anna, Andrew, Benjamin, Chelsea, Rebecca, Matthew, Stacey, & Shane along with numerous great grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his son-in-law Martin Antonelli and grandson Kyle. Funeral services will take place on Friday, October 19 at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo officiated by Rev. Majeski of Grace Lutheran Church. Burial to follow at the Ferguson Cemetery in Almont Township. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Donations to “Make-A-Wish” foundation would be appreciated.
