Kenneth J. Hampson

KENNETH J. HAMPSON, of Armada, MI, passed on July 21, 2023 on his 59th birthday after a long battle with cancer.

Most summer evenings, Ken could be found sitting next to a campfire with an oversized mug of hot coffee or tea and country music quietly playing in the background. He also enjoyed a childhood of camping, boating, and riding his Honda Trail 70 motorcycle at Black Lake in northern lower Michigan. Ken loved any kind of electronic gadget and was usually found tinkering on something to fix or install. Ken spent most of his life working in construction as a certified backhoe operator; he was also licensed to drive tractor trailers. Whether on the job, doing home projects, or helping out friends and family, Ken was a stickler for accuracy. Children and animals loved Ken; he took personal interest in teaching children hands-on projects. Ken had a good sense of humor and was a bit of a prankster.

Ken is predeceased by parents Robert and Arlene (Litrichin) Hampson, and brother Kevin J. Hampson.

Ken is survived by his brother Ronald (Marian) Hampson, a niece, nephews, and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A short viewing and service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home at 11280 32 Mile Road, Romeo, MI. Burial will be privately attended.
