With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth Kay Ugolini, beloved husband, father and grandfather. He passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025 at the age of 86 in Romeo, Michigan.

Born on August 8, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, Kenneth was the son of Divilio and Helen (Lakin) Ugolini. He attended St. Benedict High School in Highland Park, Michigan. He then went on to study at the University of Detroit where he participated in the ROTC program and graduated with a metallurgical engineering degree. He spent his career as an engineer and manager at the TRW Steering Division in Warren, Michigan where he started in a co-op position when he was 19.

Kenneth’s family was his greatest joy and he was devoted to their well-being throughout his life. He was a faithful and loving husband to Julie for 63 years. He was a warmhearted and dedicated father to his son Kenneth and daughter Kimberly, and a loving grandfather to Margaret and Sean.

In his free time, one of his passions was the restoration of classic and antique cars. He delighted in solving the challenges that came with the restoration of each vehicle. He also loved Michigan summers and was dedicated to the cultivation of his yearly garden. He shared the bountiful vegetables with family, friends and neighbors.

Kenneth leaves behind a legacy of love, thoughtfulness, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Julie (Kramek) Ugolini; his son, Kenneth Jay Ugolini (Bobbie Carter) and daughter, Kimberly Collins (Kevin); his granddaughter, Margaret Ugolini (Michael Collins) and grandson, Sean Collins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 1-6pm (12-1pm for family) with funeral services from 5-6pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home (11280 32 Mile Road, Romeo, Michigan).

Burial services will be held on Friday, February 21st from 10am-12pm beginning at the funeral home and then proceeding to the cemetery. Luncheon will follow at Pamela’s Catering (66850 Van Dyke Rd, Washington, Michigan, 586-752-7782) from 12-2pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/) in memory of Kenneth Kay Ugolini.
