Kevin G. Fahey, M.D. , passed away suddenly on January 3, 2024, leaving behind a profound legacy defined by compassion, dedication, and love. Dr. Fahey was born on July 23, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1972 and graduated from Loyola University, Chicago, IL in 1977. He embarked on a medical career and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Spartan Health Sciences University, St. Lucia, West Indies, in 1986. He completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pontiac General Hospital, Pontiac, Michigan. His life journey led him along an extraordinary path of healing and service. He drew strength from the loss of his own father, who was a General Practitioner and Obstetrician Gynecologist. Kevin became the pillar of support for his family, carrying forward his father's medical legacy. For over four decades, Dr. Fahey served passionately as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, profoundly touching the lives of countless patients, in particular mothers and newborns. His commitment to his profession knew no bounds, and his compassionate nature shone brightly in every interaction. Dr. Fahey was deeply admired by his colleagues and held a special place in the hearts of his patients. Fluent in Spanish, he found great joy in connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds. He possessed an extensive knowledge of automobiles and loved driving and repairing sports cars. In recent years, Kevin began practicing martial arts, earning his black belt at TNT Martial Arts in Romeo with his son, John, in 2021.
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Marsha Kay (Wilson). His loving children of whom he was so very proud, Kevin C. (Heidi) of Golden, CO, daughter, Leyland C. of Denver, CO, and John G. of Bruce Township, MI. One granddaughter, Emery Donovan Fahey, of Golden, CO.
He is survived by his siblings, Brian C. Fahey (Kathleen) of Indianapolis, IN, Livia Fahey Rizzo (Robert) of Needham, MA, Jack (Nina) Fahey of Lake Forest, IL and many nieces and nephews. Special in-laws, John and Mary Ann Wilson, Stewardson, IL. Also missing Kevin, special furry friends, Copper and Mr. Sox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John R. and Livia Cunningham Fahey.
Local arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, MI. A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
