Lawrence L. Rinke

Lawrence L. Rinke, age 78, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. Larry was born April 24, 1936 in Utica, Michigan, the son of Lawrence and Catherine (Christian) Rinke. After serving his Country in the Air Force, Lawrence worked at Fisher Body at the Tech Center in Warren, Michigan for 30 years before retiring in 2000. During his life, he also served in the Air Force, as a volunteer on the Washington Township Fire Department and served on the Romeo Police Department. After retiring, he enjoyed being on his ham radio and flying his airplane. Lawrence is survived by his children: Sherry (Rick) Eckhardt of Romeo, Lawrence Jr. of Florida, Joseph of Ray, and Annette Mentier of Washington, MI. Also survived by 12 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren along with siblings Ray (Jill) Rinke of Virginia, Donna Fettig (Dick) of Naples, Florida, and sister-in-law Jan Rinke of Washington Township and brother in law Richard Tucker of Bruce Township.  Lawrence was preceded in death by his sister Gertie Tucker, brother Pat Rinke, sister Jeannette Hare and his parents Lawrence & Catherine Rinke. Memorial services will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Visitation will be on Friday November 7, 2014 from 3-8 and Saturday November 8, 2014 from noon to the hour of service at 2 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Donations to the Romeo Nursing Center would be appreciated.
