Lawrence M. Alfonsi

Lawrence M. Alfonsi, age 79, a 10 year resident of Gaylord, MI., and previously from Romeo, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Romeo Continuing Care Center. Lawrence was born February 7, 1931 in Detroit, the son of Angelo and Maria (Aureli) Alfonsi. On August 6, 1955 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Detroit, Lawrence was united in marriage to the former Barbara Eddy. Lawrence worked for General Motors as a Senior Engineer for Fisher Body for over 25 years, retiring in 1979. While living in Romeo, Lawrence along with his family were members of St Clement Catholic church. Upon retirement, he enjoyed golfing, being at his Gaylord home, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lawrence is survived by his wife Barbara of Romeo, children: Patti (Rick) Lange & Tony (Paula) Alfonsi both of Almont, Mark (Debbie) Alfonsi of Ray, Denise (John) Furitano of Canadian Lakes, MI., and Annette Bernard of Transonic, MI. Also survived by grandchildren Tom, Kelly, & Paul Lange, Michael, Emily, Brian, & Therese Alfonsi, and Natalee, Mason, Preston, Madison, Isabelle, & Ruby Bernard. Siblings include Lucia Abbonizio of Lake Orion, MI., Natalie Pence of Canton, MI., and Ida (Louie) Morelli of Troy. Preceded by brother-in- laws, Nick Abbonizio & Dale Pence. Memorial Mass will take place on Monday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church in Romeo. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
