Lawrence Mahaffy

Lawrence Mahaffy, age 80, a 50+yr resident of Bruce Twp, passed away on Aug 6, 2021 at Henry Ford Macomb hospital in Clinton Twp, Mi. Lawrence was born on Feb. 3, 1941 in Detroit, the son of Arthur and Gladys (Welch) Mahaffy. Married to his loving wife Sharon (Quinlan), for 59 yrs. Lawrence retired after 30+yrs from Pontiac Motors as a die maker. After retirement he went on to work for Sanyo Machine America Corp, he also helped a friend make the first Motor home. Lawrence was in several Corvette clubs as well. Lawrence is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters: Sue Black (Don Harding) of Charlotte, Gwen (Todd) Fletemier of Kalkaska, Jill (Dave) Udocon of Romeo, and Chris (Alan) Comps of Oakland Twp. Brothers: Charles (Marlene) Mahaffy of Peck, Brian (Jill) Mahaffy of St. Clair Shores,and sister Brenda (Gary) Carty of Texas. Lawrence has 8 grandchildren: Tom and Missy Black, Andrea Bryant, Josh Fletemier, Jackie Dorman, Mitchell Udocon, Alison and Nicole Comps. Also 2 great grandchildren: Zoey and Zachary Bryant. Preceded in death was his sister Maryann Jeroue and his parents Arthur and Gladys (Welch) Mahaffy. Visitation will be held at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home on Wednesday August 11, 2021 from 10am till noon, with a Rosary service at 11am. Funeral services will immediately follow at the Bruce/Armada Cemetery at 12:30pm.
