Leila E. Hanaford, age 97, a 27 year resident of Almont and formerly a lifelong resident of southeast Michigan, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Romeo Continuing Care Center. Leila was born Leila Edna Benson on March 29, 1913 in St Paul, Minnesota , the daughter of Albert D. and Leila (Taylor). Leila moved to southeast Michigan at the age of 10 where she spent her whole life, except for winters in New Port Richey, FL and one year in Tennessee. Leila worked as a Clerk/Typist for the City of Livonia for many years before retiring in the 1970’s. Leila is survived by her children: daughter Joanne (Tom) Hough and her son Ed (Donna) Hanaford both of Almont Township. Grandchildren include Jill Hough, Marcy Nungesser, Steve Hanaford, Dave & Andy Hough. Great grandchildren include Jackie Nungesser, Titus Hough, Zoe Kerchen, Zak Hanaford, Mia Kerchen, Alexa Hanaford, and Adam Hough. She is also survived by her older (by 2 years) sister Winifred who lives in Manistee, MI. Leila was preceded in death by her husband William S. Hanaford in 1962 and her second husband Gus Hanaford in 1996 and her sister Madeline in 1966,
