Leo Herman Lange, age 91, a resident of Utica/Romeo Michigan for many years, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Northpointe Assisted Living in Utica, Michigan. Leo was born August 11, 1923 in North Branch, Michigan, the son of Lawrence and Loretta (Schlaud) Lange. He married the former Violet Brinker on August 29, 1942 in Pontiac, Michigan. Leo retired from General Motors at the Tech Center in Warren as a maintenance dispatcher. He served his Country during WW II in the Army from 1943-1945 with the 34th infantry where he was awarded the Mediterranean Ribbon with 2 Battle Stars. Leo was hurt in action and received the Purple Heart and the good conduct medal. Along with his family they were long time members of St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo and in retirement enjoyed golfing and bingo. Leo is survived by his wife Violet, children: Leo & Dianne, Ken & MaryAnn, Jim & Lori, Jerry, and Dan. Grandchildren include Dayna (Steven Brunner), Lauri (Richard Thom), Keith (Andrea) & Kelly (Neil Hackley) and great grandchildren include Lauren, Mitchell, Thomas, Douglas, Peter, Kate, Lexi, Josie and Kinsey. Leo was preceded in death by siblings: William, Alta, Richard, Anthony, Patricia, and Margaret. Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, July 10 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo.
