Leonard Joseph Monfils
October 3, 1934-March 3, 2023
Leonard was born in Detroit to Clarence and Marguerite Monfils. He had one brother who was lost in WW11, and eight sisters who all passed before him.
Leonard served four years in United States Army during the Korean War as an ammunition technician. He was an avid sports fan & hunter. He had the love of tinkering.
Leonard was the longest serving commander at the Romeo VFW Post 2052. Never missing a Wednesday night lucky number drawing. He also was a member of the ritual honors team.
If anything is needed, he was the one to ask. There are not enough words to describe this wonderful man. He was a coach, teacher and idol.
He was a dedicated family man who will truly be missed.
He is and always will be our GOAT !!!
Leonard is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline of 65 years. Dear Dad of Sheri (Thomas )Renee ( Russell ), Michael ( Carole) and David (Sheryl ).
Grandchildren of the late David ( Angelina ), Nicole, Jaclyn (Jordan ), Michael , (Brittany), Michelle (Jacob), Cristina (Reece), Jeffrey (Taylor). Chelsea (Jason), Arden (Jacob. ), Delaney.
Great Grandchildren Jada,Myla,Giabella,Viana,Jacqueline,,Maverick,Marcello, Josephine, Greysen ,Willow,
Londyn,Joseph, Daisy and Levi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 1-8 pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 11 am, at St. John and Paul Catholic Church (7777 28 mi. rd., Washington Mi. 48094). Leonard will be instate from 10 to 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VFW post Romeo 2052.
