Leone L. Krause

Leone L. Krause, age 90, a lifelong Washington Township resident, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Angelica’s Place in Romeo. Leone was born February 20, 1925 at the Booth Hospital on Bailey Street in Romeo. After graduating from Romeo High School in 1943, she married her High School sweetheart, Ivan Krause on October 19, 1946 at the Romeo United Methodist Church. She always worked on their family farm, drove bus for many years for Romeo Community Schools, and also worked as a bartender/waitress at the Ponderosa Restaurant, now known as the Apple Orchard Inn at 29 Mile Road on Van Dyke. Leone is survived by her children: Butch (Kim) Krause and Sue (John) Gillespie both of Romeo, Barb Bechard of Troy, and Candace (Tim) Baldwin of Phoenix, Arizona. Brother: Clare (Barb) Tincknell. Grandchildren: Tony (Erin) Gillespie & Dan Gillespie, Nick (Katie) Bechard, Lindsay O’Connor, and Chelsea & Molly Krause. Great grandchildren: Sam O’Connor and Carinne Gillespie. Leone was preceded in death by her husband Ivan on June 26, 2011, her granddaughter Jamie Gillespie, and siblings, Don & George Tincknell and Ruth Hagaman. Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 3, 2015 at noon at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with burial to follow at the Romeo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to "Paws with a Cause" (4646 S. Division, Wayland, MI 49348 or to "Alzheimers Association" (Great Michigan Chapter, 25200 Telegraph Road, Ste # 100, Southfield, MI. 48033-7443) would be appreciated.
