Leroy Carl Barnum

April 3, 1965 — January 30, 2023

Leroy Carl Barnum, age 57, a resident of Emmett since 2006, passed away on January 30, 2023 at home, surrounded by family. Leroy was born April 3, 1965 in Almont, Michigan, the son of Leroy Claude Barnum and Noreen (Wethy) Barnum. Leroy was a 1984 graduate of Romeo High School. Leroy married Tammy Thorman, in Avoca, and they enjoyed 31 years of marriage together. Leroy worked for the Local 17 as a tree trimmer for 26 years. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, working on his 1910 Ford tractor, and being out in the barn.


Leroy is survived by his wife, Tammy, of Emmett, children Nathaniel (Samantha) Barnum of Emmett, Bonnie Barnum of Sandusky, siblings Tim (Cindy) Barnum of Washington Township, Gail Barnum of Kent, Washington State, Tracy (John) Stokes of Leonard, grandchildren Harvey, Hunter, Harmony, and Harley, as well as many nieces and nephews. Leroy was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Noreen.


Visitation will be held Friday, February 3, from 2:00PM - 8:00PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, and on Saturday February 4, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM, with the service beginning at 11:00AM, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
