Lydia V. Griffin, age 96, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Medi-Lodge Nursing Center in Richmond. Lydia was born in Romeo on September 2, 1911, the daughter of Rudolph and Elizabeth (Bade) Falker. She married Harry Griffin on November 12, 1934 at St John Lutheran Church in Romeo. He had preceded her in death in 1976. Lydia worked in a bakery, the restaurant business, and she then retired from Twist Drill in Rochester in 1971. She had been a lifelong member of St John Lutheran Church in Romeo, helped out for many years on the funeral luncheon committee & was their Christian Woman of the year in the 1980's. Lydia hobbies included baking, knitting, crocheting, and going on trips with the Romeo Senior Citizens. Lydia is survived by her children, Robert (Janet) Griffin of Washington Twp., Donald of Flint, and Elizabeth ( Robert) Totten of Romeo. She is survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Siblings surviving include Martin Falker of Washington Twp, Howard Falker of Bruce Twp., and Louise Trombley of Romeo. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 11 AM at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Rev. Mark Evans officiating. Burial will take place at the Romeo Cemetery. Donations to St John Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan.
