Margaret (Forthoffer) Hennig, age 97 of Romeo passed away after a lengthy illness at her home at American House in Rochester Hills on March 31, 2015. She was born on July 6, 1917 in Harbor Beach, Michigan. She married a local carpenter, Aloysius Hennig on January 30, 1943. Mr Hennig died in 1955. Margaret was a life long Romeo resident who raised and supported her family through various jobs. She was the long time dental assistant for Dr. Myles Markey in Romeo. She was much loved by the many elderly people in the Romeo area that she cared for into her 90’s. Margaret was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Romeo and had been active for years in the Altar Society, and the Promise Keepers. She volunteered for McRest and at funerals and other church functions. Margaret was an avid Pincochle and Bridge player who enjoyed participating in many card groups in the area. She loved to cook, and enjoyed hosting family and friends in her home. Margaret is survived by her children: Nanette Stark of Rochester Hills, Carol Tisch of Romeo, and Earl (Mary) Hennig of Bellaire, Michigan. She loved and adored her grandchildren: Jared, Stephen, Susan, Timothy, Jennifer, Louis, Eric, Benjamin, and Andrew. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, her sister Connie Weber of Ruth, Michigan, and many adoring and loving nieces and nephews. Her eldest son, Eugene, predeceased her in 2000. A mass of Resurrection will take place on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 10 AM at St. Clement Catholic Church Romeo, Michigan. Visitation will be on Monday April 6, 2015 from 4-8 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Donations can be made to St. Clement Catholic Church, American House Elmwood in Rochester Hills, or Seasons Hospice.
