Margaret A (Marge) DeBaene, age 71. A long-time resident of Shelby Township and Macomb Township, Margaret passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016. Marge was born July 4, 1944 in Memphis, Michigan. The daughter of John and Bernice (Thomas) Curzydlo. She married Edward DeBaene on November 18, 1966 in Memphis, Michigan. As a young woman, Margaret worked for Dr. Duvas, an eye doctor in Port Huron, Michigan. She also worked at the Mount Clemens Juvenile Court. After attending college, Marge became an entrepreneur; she owned and operated several businesses, most notably Charlie Brown’s located in Almont, Michigan and DC Distributers in Madison Heights, Michigan. Throughout her life, her and her family were very active in the Catholic Church. She was most recently a parish member at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Marge is survived by her husband Edward, her children: Peter (Lisa) DeBaene and Cheryl (Scott) Kraemer, both residents of Shelby Township. Also survived by her seven grandchildren: Kaitlin, Zachary, Alexander, Nicholas, Evan, Nolan, and Alaina. Margaret is also survived by her six siblings: John Jr. (Marilyn) of Sterling Heights, Paul (Nancy) Curzydlo of Almont, Rose (Don) Dopson and Sylvia Burgeson both of Romeo, Mary Konyha of Gaylord, and Gloria Curzydlo of Clinton Township. Marge was preceded in death by her brother Edward Curzydlo. A memorial mass will take place on Friday May 6, 2016 at 9:30 AM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Mount Clemens with a memorial luncheon immediately following at the church. Local arrangements by the Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Michigan.
