Maria Selva

Maria Selva, age 89, a resident of Sterling Heights/Romeo since 1992 and previously from Detroit, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Romeo Nursing Center.  Maria was born in Italy on February 18, 1918, the daughter of Fortunato and Rosa Gasperoni.  She married Marino Selva and immigrated to the United States in 1961 and he preceded her in death on September 7, 1990.  Maria loved to cook and play cards.  Along with her family, they were long time members of the San Marino Club in Troy and attended St Clement Catholic Church in Romeo.      Maria is survived by her son Claudio (Aurora) of Bruce Twp., and her daughter Lillian (Luigi) Cecoli of Italy. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren along with 2 sisters in Italy.       Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 4 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp.  Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 3-9 PM with a 7 PM rosary at the Henry M.
