Marie Johnson

Marie Johnson, age 99, a 5 year resident of Rochester Hills and formerly from Romeo, Oscoda, and Detroit, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Boulevard Health Center in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Marie was born December 1, 1912 in New York City, NY, the daughter of John and Elana Mintar. She married Dominic Wierzbicki in 1929 and then married Oliver Johnson in 1950 and he preceded her in death in the middle 1980’s. During World War II, Marie worked as a laborer for the war effort. Her hobbies included tole painting, crocheting, needlework, and every day she was proud to say she read her Bible. Marie is survived by her son John (Joan) Wierzbicki of Romeo, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and her daughter-in-law Joanie Wierzbicki. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons Dominic and Robert Wierzbicki. Funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 PM.
